People and businesses continue contacting me asking for my help
In April, I accepted a challenge from God to use my many years of experience working virtually as a base of experience and start a website to help other disabled persons learn how to do the same. After several months of research, www.Enabled4Success.com went live. During the process of development I realized that this site would also help not only those we ordinarily think of as persons with disabilities, but also the "economically disabled" -- those who for reasons beyond their control need economic stability, yet are unable to go the usual route of getting a job. With that site established as a labor of love, I returned my focus to my own business. However, in the interim work from my main clients had reduced and I needed to increase my own revenue streams. I promised the Lord that unless he showed me otherwise, I would start looking for more clients for my writing and business development skills. Within an hour of sitting down at my desk to start in on this, Jim Cockrum called me personally. This discussion turned me back in the direction of my heart's desire -- Internet Marketing. In July, God let me know that the stumbling blocks I was encountering were because I kept thinking of this as a business. That day he told me:
"As long as you see it as a business, it cannot succeed. I have called you to a ministry of helping, which is your heart's desire. I have equipped you and prepared you to come along side those in business to make their business a success. Be My tool and I will reveal the very processes to accomplish this."
God solidified all of this with that call from Jim Cockrum. Equipped and inspired, I started learning everything I could as a new Gold Member of OfflineBiz.com. Since it was within only 10 days of Christmas, I knew that I'd need to wait until after the holiday season to begin marketing my services. So I focused on learning all I could in the interim. Yet, in the midst of this learning time and in spite of not marketing my services, referrals began coming in. People began asking me to help them with internet marketing for their businesses. Today is just a couple months later and I have yet to set out to intentionally seek clients. Yet, because God is in the lead of these efforts, people and businesses continue contacting me asking for my help in this area. I've actually become too busy to market my services for the simple reason that I do not need to. Opportunities keep appearing and referrals continue going out, all because God is doing it. I have long loved Proverbs 3:5-6, but now I am truly living it in my business.
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
As I watch this business unfold with God at the head and focused on His plan for it, I have found that the previous verse has also come to life in my business.
"So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man." -- Proverbs 3:4
It has been amazing to watch what God has started continue to grow through his efforts. I am but the instrument, working at what he gives me to do as he connects people to me. I have the joy of helping others achieve new levels of success in business. I am in awe. In my opinion and experience, a God-directed business is the best way to go. If you have any questions for me on this, please don't hesitate to ask. Drop me an email at jenn (at) iqt2.com and we'll talk. Update: I am privileged to be a Gold Member of OfflineBiz.com and I can tell you it is well worth the investment. The amount of information and guidance is amazing. Someone posted on the forums asking if these ideas will work in a small town. Well, my town is 5,000 people. Yet, we have plenty of businesses. If I saturate my small town, I plan to move to the next and the next. Our county only has around 50,000 people, but that's 50,000 people who need products and services. I'm firmly convinced you can make this work anywhere you live in a free enterprise system. Blessings to all,
